Juanita High School, located east of Seattle and close to the northeast tip of Lake Washington, is a public, three-year comprehensive, fully accredited high school, which opened in 1971 and graduated its first class in 1973. It is one of four high schools in the Lake Washington School District, a fast-growing district that is fourth largest in Washington State. Presently, Juanita High School's enrollment is 1230 with a graduating class of approximately 400 students.

Numerous programs exist at Juanita High School, supported by more than 116 staff members, to encourage, mentor and assist students towards success. The Vision Statement of Juanita High School may best summarize its approach toward education: "Students, staff, parents and community working together will provide our students the opportunity to learn to use their minds well and to develop the skills, knowledge and attitudes defined to become lifelong learners, responsible citizens, informed decision-makers and competitive workers in our global economy". Study Skills, English-as-a-Second Language, Career Ladders and special services support students. Honors and advanced placement (AP) classes add additional challenges, and Tech-Prep classes allow students to earn advanced standing at colleges.

Vocational Education at Juanita High School is alive and well! Strong programs in Technology, Business, Marketing and Family and Consumer Science allow students to gain not only immediate technical skills but skills to support them for a lifetime. Articulation agreements with colleges allow Juanita High School students the opportunity to earn college credit while attending classes on their own campus. Business, Marketing, Manufacturing and Technology classes are all involved in this endeavor.

Technology Education and Manufacturing related classes at Juanita High School offer a broad range of activities, skills, and experiences. These classes are designed to provide understanding and competencies needed for success and safety as a worker and productive citizen, taking into consideration individual interests, differences, and needs. Our emphasis is in problem solving; both group and individual. All courses are designed to be co-educational and prepare students to enter into advanced training, higher education, and/or the job market. Courses in manufacturing include Engineering Graphics and Design I, II, and III, Applied Physics, Material Science, Computer Projects, Woods Technology and Power Mechanics.

Students will learn how to correctly use AutoCAD and other 3D modeling applications as well as Pagemaker, Front Page, Power Point and many others as students work both independently and in groups on one of many projects.
