Everett Community College offers an Associate in Technical Arts degree
in Manufacturing Technology Management for individuals preparing or
in manufacturing who desire to participate in operations management,
logistics, machine shop management or support activities. The program
studies the flow of materials through the manufacturing value added
processes with emphasis on procedures charting, operations analysis,
master scheduling, inventory management, detailed material and capacity
planning, warehousing, shipping, and overall corporate or project management.
The Just-In-Time and Lean productivity improvement concepts are intertwined
in all courses. Two courses in the program are focused on use of the
quality sciences contained in Total Quality Control and Statistical
Process Control and contained in the ISO-9000 quality program. A machine
shop option containing lecture and laboratory work in basic machining
and operation of numerically controlled machines plus NC programming
is available in late afternoon in conjunction with Sno-Isle Skills Center.
The curriculum provides a broad base of knowledge giving students practice
in communications skills, academic skills in English and Mathematics,
computer usage in business environments and critical thinking plus team
work and leadership in industrial settings. Students participating in
this program report rapid progression into positions of higher job responsibility,
personal satisfaction and financial reward.
