The Institute graduates can now be found throughout the region serving in a variety of roles using the latest strategies and resources in effective community leadership.

Read some insights from last year's Institute participants:

"This was an excellent session! It was a very helpful and unique opportunity to be able to interact with front-line reporters. I will now feel both more at ease and be more skilled the next time I'm asked to provide information and quotes to a reporter." Robin Clausen, 2009 Institute Participant

"I felt the collective amount of board experience at this session was amazing. There were so many types of perspectives along with a range of experiences represented. Good Sam President John Long had a number of nuggets of wisdom to share. I also really enjoyed our tour of Good Samaritan Hospital. The discussion of healthcare issues led by Good Sam VP Glenn Kasman was more relevant than ever, and it was great to see what's happening and what's going to happen at Good Sam. I would never have been exposed to this 'behind-the-scenes' look at a hospital if it wasn't for this day." Phill DeLong, 2009 Institute Participant

"As a public-sector employee, it was especially interesting to me to learn about the diversity of services and resources available in our community that address our quality of life needs. Whether from the art walk tour we took, the role plays we engaged in, or hearing from Sumner Mayor Dave Enslow, the day broadened my understanding of this important community issue." Jason Wilson, 2009 Institute Participant.
