Trainer Biography

 

HEIDI SCHILLINGER , MSW
ReachOut Director

Heidi’s experience in community development, adult education, and social enterprise includes over a decade of experience working with diverse, low-income communities – eight years with New Futures and six years living and working abroad, in Mongolia, as a Peace Corps Volunteer, as well as in South Korea. These experiences have helped shape her passion for providing and sharing culturally competent practices.

Heidi is currently in charge of directing ReachOut, a social enterprise of New Futures, that works in the broader community and promotes systemic change through organizational professional development trainings focused on cultural competency and family and community engagement.  In this role, she is also one of ReachOut’s primary curriculum designers and trainers.

Heidi received her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Asian Studies from Saint Olaf College, and her Master’s of Social Work, with an emphasis in Multi-Ethnic Practice, from the University of Washington.
