PATRICIA HUGHES
For the past fifteen years Patricia (Pat)
Hughes has helped organizations and community groups build leadership
capacity and improve effectiveness and sustainability.
As the owner of Trillium Leadership Consulting,
Pat brings exceptional skills as an educator, program designer, facilitator,
coach and writer. She has a deep passion for working with clients to
integrate closely held values into their personal lives, workplace or
community. Her work with non-profit organizations, neighborhood groups,
school districts and government agencies has earned her recognition
as a highly skilled, graceful and sought-after facilitator. Pat designs
each course with a balance of approaches, including humor, storytelling,
experiential learning, personal reflection and group discussion, that
support adult learning.
Pat wrote the book Gracious
Space: A Practical Guide for Working Better Together,
which was published in 2004 by the Center for Ethical Leadership, where
she worked for nine years. Her work in innovative leadership development
was recognized nationally by the International Leadership Association.
She has a master’s degree in organizational development from Seattle’s
Antioch University and a bachelor’s in economics and international
relations from the University of New Hampshire.
Pat enjoys the outdoors as a mountaineer,
triathlete and bird watcher. She writes essays and children’s
books on nature, adventure travel and health. She also serves on the
board of Sustainable Seattle and supports many fitness-related and environmental
conservation efforts.
