Payne Learning Needs Inventory (PLNI) Training
This workshop will provide participants with a brief foundation of the definitions, manifestations and characteristics of learning disabilities, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and related non-apparent disorders common to individuals who have or are thought to have special needs. Training will focus on how to administer and review the results of the Payne Learning Needs Inventory (PLNI). Using sample cases, participants will become practiced in using the PLNI and summary protocols including identification of methods, techniques and accommodations that lead to effective counseling, training, teaching, and/or working methods. Additionally potential resources and referrals will be presented.
Who should attend? Secondary and post-secondary teachers and faculty, disability and rehab coordinators and counselors, social workers and case managers, psychologists and mental health counselors, human services providers, workforce and career specialists, human resources personnel, job coaches, and trainers.

Learning Objectives:
- Gain knowledge of definitions of learning disabilities, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and other non-apparent disabilities
- Understand and recognize the characteristics and manifestations of learning and attention disorders and related non-apparent disorders and special learning needs
- Understand objective informal assessment techniques involved in using an informal interview strategy
- Learn to use and apply the Payne Learning Needs Inventory with individuals who have or are suspected of having special learning needs
- Identify approaches, techniques and accommodations for counseling, training, teaching and/or working methods
- Know how to use the Building Learning Power for Children and Adults who have Special Needs Accommodations Manual or the Accommodations & Modifications: A Collection of Suggestions & Recommendations for Employment & Training Settings
- Understand how to develop necessary resources and referrals

Cancellation Policy:
The cancellation fee is $25. If you must cancel your registration, you may request a refund minus the $25 fee up to 3 working days prior to the event. After this date, no refunds will be issued; you can make substitutions. "No-shows" will be charged the full workshop fee.
