Session description:

“The world is becoming turbulent faster than organizations are becoming resilient.”
(Gary Hamel, Harvard Business Review)

Is your organization positioned to handle turbulence, or are you waiting for things to settle down and get back to normal?  How are you using the strengths, skills, talents and knowledge of the people in your organization?  Do you know what they are?  What about the strengths, skills, talents and knowledge of the organization next door, or across town, or half-way around the world?

In today’s interconnected world where millions of events are affecting millions of people simultaneously, we can no longer remain isolated in our organizational bubbles.  Boundaries are coming down.  Position descriptions are losing their meaning.  The world is moving from “survival of the fittest” to “survival of the collaborative.”

Mark Okazaki, Executive Director of Neighborhood House, will describe how collaboration has contributed to the success and resiliency of his organization, and will answer questions.

At the end of the day, participants will leave with specific ideas for acting collaboratively to increase resiliency in their organizations.
