Speaker Biography: Stephen Jordan

 

Stephen Jordan has served as president of Eastern Washington University since 1998. Before his arrival at Eastern, he was the executive director of the Kansas Board of Regents from 1994-1998, overseeing 82,000 students of the University of Kansas and state university systems. He also served on the Arizona Board of Regents from 1989-1994 as the deputy executive director of finance and planning.
 

Since his appointment as president, Jordan has met and surpassed the goals for enrollment and campus development, moving enrollment from 8000 to 9500 in five years. He has worked diligently to improve the quality of education and the university experience for students while providing stabilization for faculty and staff. Research and academic programs have expanded as doors were opened to faculty. EWU’s statewide status has grown with the visibility Dr. Jordan has established.
