Appreciative Inquiry
Creating A Positive Future
Appreciative Inquiry is an approach to organizational change based on strengths rather than weaknesses, on a vision of what is possible rather than an analysis of what is not.

The Positive Core and 4-D Cycle

The positive core identifies the unique strengths, abilities, skills, and attributes of a team, unit or organization. The creation of a living history of the collective strengths of organization or team is a critical part of the 4-D cycle. Organizations are asked to:

  • Discover strengths

  • Dream what they could be

  • Design what should be

  • Deliver what will be

Throughout this process, the Positive Core focuses energies on desired change.

This deceptively simple process encourages organizations to grow in the direction of the wisdom and strength of the people who best know what the organization can do.

In what ways has Appreciative Inquiry been effectively applied?
