We need
to anticipate change if we are to foster economic growth and prosperity,
and position our industries and citizens at the forefront of this
unfolding
economic transformation.
To begin that conversation, a statewide conference, was held on
October 29th
at the West Seattle Campus of South Seattle Community College, followed
by
meetings in each of the state regions.

Northwest Policy Center's Occupational Clusters
Study
This study analyzes the workforce
needs of industry clusters such
as health care, construction, software, metal fabrication/machine
building, and wholesale trade and business services, and identifies
the gaps between what these clusters need and what the community
and technical colleges currently produce. It also provides data
about
the skills gap for other key supporting industries and emerging
clusters that could become future engines of economic growth.
