BUILDING INDIVIDUAL  AND TEAM PERFORMANCE WITH DEPENDABLE STRENGTHS ®
(a strengths based approach)

Tuesday, December 15, 2009
9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Location:
The 2100 Building
2100 24th Avenue S.
Seattle, WA 98144

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

This full day interactive workshop will have participants experience the Dependable Strengths Articulation (DSA) process.

Everyone has a distinct pattern of talents, skills and abilities – his or her own unique form of excellence.   The Dependable Strengths Articulation (DSA) process enables individuals to identify and articulate this pattern of strengths.   When people work from their Dependable Strengths, they are more productive, motivated, joyful and appreciative of others.

This unique process, (developed by Dr. Bernard Haldane, an internationally recognized pioneer of career counseling), and currently being researched at the University of Washington, has been successfully used by organizations including U.S. Forest service, Microsoft, Boeing, Washington State Department of Social and Health Services, community colleges, universities, social service agencies, elementary and high schools and more.

Participants use a peer-assisted process to explore ‘good experiences” for patterns of strengths.   This process helps individuals cope with obstacles in the workplace, increases self-esteem, and will help participants develop a sharper sense of individual and group abilities.   Participants will also experience the process of effective team building based on the concept of Dependable Strengths.

Participants will :

  1. Identify their own unique Dependable Strengths®
  2. Gain knowledge of "strength-based team building".
  3. Understand the nature and value of a "strengths" perspective.
  4. Begin to learn how to recognize strengths in clients/customers and others.
  5. Learn methods which can increase staff teamwork, morale and productivity
  6. Experience a process which enables participants to increase their own….
    • self-esteem and confidence
    • motivation
    • sense of career and life direction

(This workshop has been designed for staff across levels.)
