is continuing its popular “Building Leadership Skills” series (developed in 2008) with two new workshops. These workshops will be addressing need areas in facilitation and problem solving/decision making.

Facilitate to Make A Difference - the art and science of Facilitation Skills

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

Facilitation is a key competence for all leaders in leading work teams, whether direct employees or project members, to enable creativity and innovation. Facilitation is a way of providing leadership without taking the reins. If you’re leader who already has the reins, then facilitation is more important than ever.  As a facilitator, your job is to get others to assume responsibility and to take the initiative.

Facilitators help others to maximize their contribution in groups and teams by creating a supportive and outcome focused environment.  

This interactive workshop will provide you with the knowledge, skills, and a variety of techniques used by effective facilitators.   You will learn to use a range of tools and techniques to generate enthusiasm for effective results. 

 

Participant Outcomes:   By the end of this workshop, you will be able to: Define 'Facilitation'. Identify the role, responsibilities, skills and qualities of an effective facilitator. Assess your current skills against a range of facilitation styles. Enable effective group processes through gathering key information and making interventions. Achieve consensus and understand your own impact on the group. Maintain energy and participation for a group you facilitate. Recognize and deal with conflict and differences within a group.

WORKSHOP FEE

Coalition Member Organization:
$90 per participant   [for 1-5 staff from member organization]
$80 per participant   [6 or more staff from member organization]

Non-Member Organization:
$120 per participant

Lunch will be on your own.

Continuing Education Units/Clock Hours
Participants can register for Highline Community College Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
The cost is $10.00 per course. CEU forms are available at the workshop.

Cancellation Policy:

The cancellation fee is $25. If you must cancel your registration and have already made payment, you may request a refund minus the $25 fee up to 3 working days prior to the event. After this date, no refunds will be issued and the workshop fee will be charged.

Alternatively, you can make substitutions for attendance.

Please note that "No Shows" will be charged the full workshop fee.
