Workshop 3: MANAGING SUSTAINED PERFORMANCE

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

Effective Performance Management is about providing others with effective direction and feedback about achieving work oriented goals. This approach helps create an environment in which everyone can succeed and thrive. This hands-on and highly interactive workshop is designed to help participants understand the importance of the ongoing performance management skills and tools necessary to sustain good communication with employees about their work throughout the year. The workshop format includes mini-presentations, discussion, feedback tools, and skill practice focused on providing staff members with solid feedback on achieving work oriented goals.

Workshop topics include:

  • Performance Management 101: Leadership Roles, Goals & Responsibilities
  • Setting performance expectations & goals with staff members (it’s all about collaboration)
  • Continually monitoring performance, while providing on-going feedback, coaching and assistance
  • Designing & completing interim appraisal forms to ensure performance goals
  • Formal Performance Review: why accuracy & objectivity in rating is fundamental to effective feedback
  • Workshop review & future planning: Putting concepts into Practice 


 


   Participants will:

  • Identify and understand the key skills necessary for effectively managing overall performance.
  • Collaboratively set clear performance expectations & goals with each individual.
  • Create an informal (and agreed-upon) way to monitor work performance.
  • Build a complete check list to ensure a thorough discussion occurs in all key areas.
  • Discover tools to effectively review key successes and provide ongoing coaching feedback.
  • Identify ways of enhancing work performance and improvement on goals.
  • Help others learn to write professional development plans.
  • Understand fundamental principles that supervisors/managers need to know regarding documentation of performance (i.e., “common sense basics about employment law”. OF COURSE, it’s always best to check policy/procedure with the HR Department in your organization).

WORKSHOP FEE

Coalition Member Organization:
$90 per participant   [for 1-5 staff from member organization]
$80 per participant   [6 or more staff from member organization]

Non-Member Organization:
$120 per participant

Lunch will be on your own.

Continuing Education Units/Clock Hours

Participants can register for Highline Community College Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
The cost is $10.00 per course. CEU forms are available at the workshop.

Free Clock Hours available at the workshop.

Cancellation Policy:

The cancellation fee is $25. If you must cancel your registration and have already made payment, you may request a refund minus the $25 fee up to 3 working days prior to the event. After this date, no refunds will be issued and the workshop fee will be charged.

Alternatively, you can make substitutions for attendance.

Please note that "No Shows" will be charged the full workshop fee.
