Winter 2010 Association Conference
March 5, 2010 - 8:30am - 3:15pm
Bates Technical College
2201 South 78th Street
Tacoma, WA 98405
An article in The Chronicle of Higher Education states it well:
"For colleges the past year's global economic crisis was much bigger—and wetter—than your typical financial downturn. It was, in the words of many a college leader, a 'perfect storm,' a 'financial hurricane,' an 'unprecedented and uncharted economic whitewater'—even full-out 'climate change'."
Community and Technical Colleges in Washington state are being hit hard. This conference will give administrators and exempt staff up-to-the-minute information and ideas for dealing with this shock.
To make this conference available to everyone in the state we will be offering it regionally via ITV and Elluminate for those unable to travel to Bates Technical College.
Sessions include:
- Earl Hale on Financial Crisis: Implications for Higher Education
- Chris Reykdal with Legislative Updates and State Budget Outlook
-
Rich Rutkowski with Budget Balancing and Oversight
- Enrollment Management Issues Panel
- Succession Planning and HR Issues
- Financial Wellness
The following sites will be offering the conference via ITV for their college and those close by:
- Bellingham Technical College
- Big Bend Community College
- Clark College
- Columbia Basin College
- North Seattle Community College
- Peninsula College
- Seattle Central Community College
- Skagit Valley College
- Spokane Community College
- Yakima Valley Community College
The ASSOCIATION leadership feels that this conference is too important to miss, therefore we are offering a discounted rate of only $99.00 for attending at Bates Technical College and $79 for participating using ITV to make it affordable for everyone during these times of budgetary cuts.
