Wolfgang Opitz, PhD

Dr. Wolfgang Opitz, a Washington native, received a Bachelor's degree from the University of Washington on 1982 and his PhD from the University of Texas at Austin in 1986. Dr. Opitz was a research scientist with the Battelle Memorial Istitute in Seattle from 1986 to 1988 before joining the Washington State Office of Financial Management (OFM) in 1988 to do population forecasting, analysis of health care systems, and assessments of the economic impact of major industries on the state's communities.

He was Budget Director for the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services from 1994-1998 where he had responsibility for developing and implementing a $10 billion biennial budget. In 1998 he returned to OFM as Senior Budget Assistant to the Governor for Education where he prepared and implemented budgets for Washington's K-12, higher education, and workforce training systems. He has been serving as Deputy Director of OFM since July 2000.

 

Susan Kostick

Susan Kostick is the founder and president of Susan Kostick and Company, LLC, working with colleges and not-for-profit organizations to enhance their visibility, efficiency, and effectiveness. their visibility, efficiency, and effectiveness

Susan Kostick has more than 30 years’ experience in management, communications, public relations and fundraising. She was assistant director of University Relations and Managing Editor of Publications at The University of Iowa, Director of College Advancement and Executive Director of the College Foundation at South Puget Sound Community College and Vice President for College Relations and Advancement at Edmonds Community College.
She and her staffs have won recognition for their work from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR); Admissions Marketing Report (AMR); Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE); Women In Communication, Inc. (WICI); and National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA). Susan was named District VII “Communicator of the Year” by the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations in 2002.
She has a B.A. in English and an M.A. in journalism from the University of Iowa and an Ed.D. from Oregon State University.
